About Daughters of Norway
The Daughters of Norway is a sisterhood of women united by our Nordic heritage and dedicated to preserving and celebrating our culture, history, and language. We aim to foster a strong community that connects women and builds lasting friendships as they learn about and share their heritage. The camaraderie that develops among members is rewarding. Why Skaði
Our lodge's name, Ska∂i (pronounced "Ska-dee"), is taken from Norse Mythology. She was both a giantess and a goddess, fiercely independent, associated with skiing, hunting, the wilderness, wildlife, and the mountains. Ska∂i represents the beauty of the Snoqualmie Valley, which lies in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range, and our Mt. Si, which watches over our valley and its residents.
